Another reason to hate guys with limp dicks.

Did you know that we females have to pay for our birth control pills? Nope, that stuff isn't covered by insurance. So I pay $15 a month for my birth control. It's not bad, but I really can't afford the birth control pills I want, which cost a whopping $110 for a three-month supply. That would be the Seasonale, the pill where you only have your flow 4 times a year. Well, I guess I could spring for it. But that is actually TWICE what I am paying now for my pill, and I just can't justify that. I just can't part with my $110 for birth control pills.

This is partly because I am annoyed to no end that women have to pay more for medical care. Viagra is covered for men by insurance. That's right. Your jimmy goes limp and it's paid for. I, on the other hand, have to fork over money for birth control -- a family planning essential! And it's $50 for my yearly "well woman exam" that I have to have because medical science dictates it. So today I am very much hating men with limp dicks, even though it isn't their fault that this is the way things are. Unless a bunch of limp-dicked men made these decisions, which could be likely.

What insurance do you have? Mine covers Seasonale, and there is a generic (finally) on the market called Jolessa, which is cheaper too.

Blue Cross Blue Shield. I will ask for the Jolessa next month then, thanks! I think the problem may be with Walgreens here. It's not the first time they didn't have something...once, my doctor prescribed diflucan -- which is one of the greatest inventions of all time for yeast infections. One pill, infection over. I go to Walgreens to get it and they tell me diflucan has been discontinued. The next time my doc tried to prescribe it, I informed him it was discontinued. He said bullshit, that I needed to go to another pharmacy. I went to a different Walgreens and they had it... But now the new Walgreens I'm going to has failed to tell me about the Jolessa.

I had to tell my CVS about Jolessa. They wanted to charge me more than normal for the Seasonale and no one knew why insurance did that. I had to do a little research online to find the generic, CVS hadn't even heard of it because it was so new, I had to convince them it existed.

Ok, so all pharmacies are retarded. Great! Walgreens is one of those where pharmacists are allowed to refuse you birth control because of religious beliefs, so I do worry a bit about that. How much did the Jolessa cost you? Insurance coverage is a joke. My card says my prescriptions are to cost me three different tiers of pricing, but it rarely works out that way. I'm just glad I have insurance. I've bought my own for three years and probably always will. Read today's blog post about my friend Dennis in San Jose I used to work with. He had a heart attack the night of Thanksgiving and wasn't insured at the time. His bills...I don't even want to know. Benefits are coming up though! Maybe we'll be able to raise enough money to pay his bills.
